The West Palm Beach Waterfront on Flagler Drive

The short answer

The West Palm Beach Waterfront is the City's public park along Flagler Drive at the foot of Clematis Street, centered on 100 N. Clematis Street. It holds the Great Lawn and Palm Stage, Centennial Square and its fountain, Waterfront Commons, the Meyer Amphitheatre, the Lake Pavilion and free City docks. The GreenMarket, Clematis by Night, the Sandi tree lighting and the 2027 boat show all happen here.

The City of West Palm Beach says its Waterfront stretches all along the Intracoastal Waterway from the City’s southeastern limits to its northern limits, with its epicenter at 100 Clematis Street. This page covers that downtown heart on Flagler Drive: each public space, what happens where, the docks and the nearest garages, all from City pages we read on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Where two City pages give different addresses, we print both.

The Great Lawn and the Palm Stage

The City says the Palm Stage and the Great Lawn are at 100 North Clematis Street, reached from Flagler Drive, Narcissus Avenue or Clematis Street, and that the closest City garage is the Banyan garage at Banyan Boulevard and Narcissus Avenue. Its event venues page describes the Great Lawn as a waterfront park next to Flagler Drive with public restrooms on site and parking one block away. This is where the GreenMarket sets up on Saturdays in season and where Clematis by Night plays on Thursdays.

Centennial Square and the fountain

Night shot of the ground fountain: dozens of water jets lit violet and magenta in a grid on wet paving, with purple-lit oak trees wrapped in white string lights behind and a small glowing cone (the holiday Sandi Tree) in the distance.

The City lists the Centennial Fountain at Nancy M. Graham Centennial Square under Swimming Pools & Water Play, with a contact number of 561-804-4900. Its event venues page describes Centennial Square as a downtown waterfront location with interactive fountains and paver-brick open space covering 35,500 square feet, with public restrooms.

The address is where City pages part ways. The fountain listing gives 150 N. Clematis Street; the venues page gives 100 South Clematis Street; the City’s event listings for Clematis by Night use 100 N. Clematis Street. All three point at the same square at the foot of Clematis, and we have not picked one. In 2025 the City also sought contractors, through a bid that closed September 4, 2025, to test, inspect and replace the fountain’s LED modules.

Waterfront Commons

The City lists Waterfront Commons at 100 N Clematis St with paved walking trails, picnic tables, shade areas, toilets and water fountains; its contact number is 561-822-1515. The City names it, with the Meyer Amphitheatre and Flagler Drive, as the setting for the Sandi tree lighting.

Meyer Amphitheatre

The City’s Directions and Parking page puts the Meyer Amphitheatre at 105 Evernia Street, with the Evernia garage as the closest City garage; its Community Events FAQ gives 104 Datura Street instead. The City says the amphitheatre holds approximately 5,000 people depending on use, sits next to the Intracoastal Waterway on 2.4 acres of green space, and has a 7,350 square-foot band shell.

Lake Pavilion

The City says the Lake Pavilion is at 101 South Flagler Drive, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the Intracoastal Waterway, and is part of the City Commons and Waterfront Promenade area with docks, lawns and shaded trellises. The City calls it a certified “green” venue. It is a rental hall, not a drop-in space: to reserve it, the City says to call 561-822-1515 to ask about availability and request a rental application package.

The City docks

The City says its downtown waterfront docks are open first come, first served, seven days a week from 5 a.m. to midnight. Use is free for non-commercial boats only, and rafting up is not permitted. For time on the water, the City says Visit Palm Beach offers jet ski, paddleboard and kayak rentals, and the Hakuna-Matata catamaran calls the downtown waterfront its home port. Out past the docks is the Lake Worth Lagoon, which Discover The Palm Beaches calls one of the Palm Beaches’ most scenic 20-mile waterways and estuaries.

Currie Park is closed until spring 2027

Further north on Flagler Drive, the City says Currie Park, at 2400 North Flagler Drive, is undergoing a $35.5 million redesign and is expected to reopen in spring 2027. Its boat docks closed September 2, 2025 for the redevelopment and are expected to reopen at the same time. The City describes it as a 13-acre park on the Intracoastal, deeded to the City in 1920 by former mayor George Graham Currie. Do not plan on its parking or docks until the City announces the reopening.
